Sixteen of his songs have been hits in the USA - three making the Number One spot in the single charts there. His songs have featured in four chart-topping movies. The recent Philadelphia presentation of his multi-awarding-winning musical, 'Windy City', became his fifth sell-out theater production in the USA.

Macaulay has written for some of the most famous artists of all time, including Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, Gladys Knight, Glen Campbell and Andy Williams and his hits include classics such as 'Build Me Up Buttercup', 'Dont Give Up On Us' and 'Baby, Now That I've Found You'. He is undoubtedly one of the greatest songwriters in British pop-music history and is a past chairman of the Society of Distinguished Songwriters. In 2007, Tony received the Edwin Forrest Award for his 'outstanding contribution to theater'.
